this morning

We've been busy. We always are at this time of year. We're trying to harness this brief period of time that we dreamt of all winter. The weather has been amazing. Perfect temperature for being outside and not so hot as to fry...those days are not far away though.
So Carpe Diem...seize the day...we are taking it all in!
I took some quick shots of us this morning to give the Blog a bit of an update:
Reagan

Last Day of School today!! WHOO HOO!!!

It's party time for Reagan! She officially rode the bus to school only once this year and that was on the first day. The rest of the year we just took her in the morning so she could sleep in...can you say spoiled? She is looking forward to her summer vacation and has big ideas of all the fun things she'll be doing. We're going to try and get her to do some chores around the house too but when you're 8 and it's summer vacation, life is one big party and that's how it should be! The last couple of weeks of school have been a lot of fun...field trips, field day, class plays, movies, etc. check it out:

Reagan was the little red hen in her class presentation and then they all sang for us!

Todd volunteered for field day and of course they gave him duty over the holey bucket brigade station.

Things got a bit out of hand.

Tanner
An update on Tan the Man: He's loving the warmer weather and being outside. He's obsessed with sticks and carries them everywhere. The other day I was cleaning and found a stick, (huge sticks) in every room in the house. He loves the warm weather but doesn't like to be warm therefore the second he walks through the door he sheds his clothes. first the shoes then the pants & shirt...he'd go farther but we've had to put our foot down! so he generally looks like this, (right), if he's inside. Another 'issue' we've encountered with Tanner and the warmer weather is that he doesn't like to come inside to use the potty. He's been seen by all the neighborhood self watering the front lawn several times....boys!

Tanner: " Mama, what's your name?"

Me: "Mama"

Tanner: "What's this?" (pointing to his nose)

Me: "a nose"

Tanner: "What am I holding?"

Me: "Nothing"

Tanner: "Mama, knows, NOTHING!!!" (Hysterical laughter.)

Hair cut Time? I've been trying to grow it out thinking it'd be cool for Tan to have a 'surfer hair-do' but instead of flipping up at the ears, it curls around them and looks a bit awkward...so we're breaking out the shears this afternoon...maybe....

Todd
Todd was looking especially dapper this morning so I made him pose for a picture...torture for the poor man! He's been busy lately fixing house #2 in ST. Anthony. We sold house #1. So Todd has been up there realigning the pitch of the roof and shingling. He's also painting and siding the exterior. As a result of all this labour, he's been quite masculine in his appearance lately...aka DIRTY! But today he was off to his 'day job' looking all spiffy...

Just soaking up the rays...yup nothing else to do around here. It's amazing how when the weather turns nice, the dishes and laundry miraculously do themselves! I just smile & wave to the gardeners and lawn mowers when they show up to work in our HUGE yard. Of course they've planted the garden & flowers with expert ease and our yard is weed free. Dinners are prepared & served by our maid and Murphy is walked and trained by his trainer...nothing for me to do. I sit, drink my Margarita, (virgin of course!:), and am amazed at how perfectly smooth our household runs without me doing anything but rub on my suntan oil...cheers!
