a quickie....

a quickie update on all things us:
*
The 2 new members of our family are doing great! Let me tell the whole story: Reagan wanted a kitten for her birthday. That's is all she wanted....we couldn't tempt her with anything else. Neither Todd or I like cats...you see the problem. Well, because I'm a softie, I gave in and finally after several "discussions" I persuaded Todd to let us get her a couple of kittens. (2 because they get lonely ya know!) Tanner went with me on Reagan's birthday to p/u the kittens. Our fav's were a little brother, (orange one), and sister, (calico one). Reagan was thrilled when she opened her box of Cat toys and then I brought the kittens out for a surprise. The names of our kitties have been ever changing. Tanner named them 'Darth Vader' & 'Luke Skywalker'. Todd and I thought 'Luke & Leah', (because they're brother and sister, get it?) might be names that would please both Tanner & Reagan, but nope. Reagan has the attitude of "They're my kittens, I'm naming them!" So her first names were 'Marcy & Leo'. Leo has stuck...but we keep calling the girl Leah. Reagan is trying to call her 'Lizzy' now but it's not sticking....I'm hoping she'll finally accept 'Leah' and we can end the great cat name debate. So as it's turning out cats aren't all that bad. I mean they don't wag their tails when they see you but they don't chew up your shoes either...bonus! I guess we are now officially cat people...it's cool.

We ripped up our wood floor. Well we took it up and put it in the house we're fixing up. So now we have a blue foam/duct tape floor all over the living area in our house. Yup..it's real pretty. We are in a hot debate on flooring products and colors...real wood vs. laminate...tile vs. wood...dark floors vs not so dark...glossy textures vs rustic fishes...etc etc. The debating is on like donkey kong around here. We'd love to hear your opinion on all things flooring too...but don't take offence when we refuse to listen to the wise advice of others and choose our own stupid path...it's what we do.

We finally finished the 2nd house in St. Anthony. Todd worked his tushie off. I have to thank both of his parents. They both put in a ton of work on the houses. The houses have turned out really nice and will be even nicer when the last one is sold! Anybody looking for a house in St. Anthony?

Last weekend Reagan & Todd organized a FHE with the Housley family. We all met up a warm slough and played Volleyball in the river then had a wienie roast. Todd was in charge of activity, I brought treats....yummmm... hot dogs with ashes, Reagan gave the lesson, (a pioneer story she'd heard...my Sister in Law Cathy was able to fill in the blanks.) I think Tanner was supposed to say the prayer but he got out of it somehow. Anyhoo, it turned out to be a really fun low key activity. Reagan has been real good about laying on the guilt for not having consistent FHE's. So we have been trying to have official FHE's.

I chopped off all my hair yesterday....it was time. There is still some left, but I honestly can't remember the last time it's been this short. I feel naked.
*
We got new phones today so don't try calling us for a few days because neither of us can figure out how to use them!
Sing with me..."Yes, I love technology..."
*
So I need to break out the camera for a few things:
~Kitty pictures! (humor us...they're so Cute!)
~ After picts of St. Anthony houses
~Our awesome blue foam/duct tape floor
~My new 'do'
Stay tuned, maybe I'll try to take them on my new phone...I think it does that...hmmm...

4 of you like what you're seeing!:

fun times! You are converted to cats...I'm impressed!
Floors....I KNOW dark floors look amazing...but since you have kids and therefore footprints and crumbs, do yourself a favor and opt out. seriously.

Let me know how the flooring thing works out. That is one of the next things on our very long list of home improvements.
I can't wait to see your new do.

Hello Housley family! I was doing some seriously blog-hopping this morning and stumbled across yours! How are you all doing? It is so hard to believe Reagan is in 3rd grade! When I see those girls at school I can’t believe how they’ve grown since 1st grade!

Send me your email and I’ll invite you to mine!

the kids are older and can't do as much damage as they once could, i vote for real wood - rustic - medium dark if you're planing to stay there forever.
