Yes I haven't blogged in a while.
My excuses are 3 fold and valid,... although pretty lame.
First, it's summer. We have been busy , (more about that to come). Also, my kids are under the impression that there is no summer bed-time. I like to do my computing without kiddie interuption and hence the blog has suffered the consequences.
Second, My memory card is full and has been for like 2 months. Therefore in order to take a picture, I have to erase a picture. that is just too much work for me to do, so my usual photographic excellence has taken a nose dive. In fact there have been major family events which I haven't even bothered to pull out my camera! (Gasp!)
Third, I am stuggling with the thought that my Blog posts are very redundant. We have a lot of traditions. Traditions by their nature are redundant, so it seems like year after year, I'm doing the same posts. I want to find a way to keep my Blog fresh and fun....I have yet to figure out how exactly to accomplish this task.
If I were a perfect blogger I would have multiple creative photos of every event and witty, clever dialogue with anecdotes to accompany every event. But alas, I am but a novice blogger and a tired novice blogger at that, therefore, here is a very condensed version of our Summer fun over the past few weeks...
1. Dance competition at Lagoon & Final dance recital.
Reagan, and fellow dance mates rocked it. They took home the sweepstakes trophy placing them 1st in their division. We had a great day riding the rides and hanging with friends at Lagoon, even with hurricane winds and motion sickness. The final recital was fun and crazy with 3 quick costume & hairdo changes. Reagan's Cousin Katie danced in this recital, (her 1st), she did really good and was a lot of fun to watch.
2. Todd's Zipline.
200 ft of crazy/fun/danger spanning our backyard.
3.Girls Camp
Yes, I went. Yes, I survived. I would now like to offer a heartfelt and warm Thank you to all of my YW leaders who slaved and planned amazing camps...I really hope I remembered to Thank them as a girl but probably not...well I know I didn't Thank them nearly enough.
4. the 3rd & 4th of July
Like I said, Traditions - The 3rd was spent in our Backyard having a Partay and the 4th in IF with the parade and fireworks down by the temple. Amazing...again. The un-traditional part of this 4th of July was that it was freezing!Brrrrrrrr..
5. Yellowstone
We went and took the kids, along with all the other sandal wearing, fanny packed, cargo short, wierd hats, tourists. It was fun, pretty, and old Faithful lived up to it's name. The kids favorite part was swimming at Firehole and when the Buffalo blocked the road. The Buffalo was quite funny and fun at first when he was just cruising down the road with us, but after he was joined by his herd and an hour later, not so much.
6. Island Park
Todd was on the road with work, so the kiddies and I cruised up to I.P. and hung with the Housley clan. We spent one day on the water in Gregs boat. It was quite lovely.
7.Melaleuca summer picnic
My Dad got us tickets for this extravaganza they put on every year. There is all sorts of fun. Todd rode a mechanical bull, Tanner rode a real horse and Reagan won all sorts of worthless treasures playing the games.
8.St Anthony Pioneer Days.
The S.A. Parade Rocks. I mean it has real floats and my kids score on the candy. We partied with the extended Housley clan at Uncle Richard's for a BBQ - good times.
9. Todd's 20th class reunion
Yes I said 20th!! That means...WE ARE OLD! We are no longer 'getting' old,..we're there. Todd spent the evening catching up with old friends and flames...and I spent the evening looking pretty and smiling...like every good trophey wife should.
10. The Blue Angels
We went with my folks to see this acrobatic air show. It was pretty dang cool.

So Here are some random pictures from Summer ...

Well my friends you are now officially caught up on all of our happenings. I will try to be a better blogging buddy...I promise. Hope you all are having a fantastic sunny adventure somewhere and will post about it soon. Cheers!
