How is it August 26th? Crazy. August has just flown by. We've been so busy. The weather has been perfection. We have had a ton of family times, trips and events to catch up on the blog with. Pictures, might have to come later due to my slacking ways as a photographer and a crappy camera...well I did take some very random shots I will share.
First we had a bit of a Tanner family reunion minus one brother and his family and minus one Sis in law at home with her new twin babies. The kids LOVED having their cousins in town and playing, playing, & playing. We had Brandon, Tiffany & little miss Brooklynn stay with us at our house. The rest stayed with my folks in IF. Our niece Markie was baptized and Reagan sang a solo at her bapism. Reagan was sooo nervous but she did really great! We played some rook and the men went golfing several times. We all spent one night in Lava Hot Springs and then we hit the pool the next day. It was a lot of fun. The worst part was that our sewage pump broke while Brandon & Tiff were here and the drain overflowed into our basement where they were sleeping. That was a pretty 'crappy' day! (sorry...I had to!) Asides from that, it was a swell time with the Family.

**more pictures of the reunion stuff are coming. They will not be mine, but stolen from my Mom and Sister-in-laws.**
So the fam was here for the first 2 weeks of August and then we headed south...Californ-I-A baby! We drove. It was Hot...like 114 degrees in Las Vegas. We went down to Newport Beach, (which wasn't so Hot...just pleasant.) My cousin Redge got married on Aug 21st in the Newport Beach temple. So we made a full on California summer vacation out of the event. We hit the beach for a couple of days. We went to San Clemente beach the first day to see our friends the Allens who, happened to be there camping at the same time we were. The second day we hit the tide pools at Corona del Mar and then went to a Birthday cook out for Marci, Redge's fiance, at San Onfre beach.
We LOVE the
beach!

We took some time to visit my Grandma Sprague. She turned 90 in July. She was put on Hospice in July. She doesn't talk a lot anymore but we could tell she recognized us and she loved seeing us. She especially loved to watch the kids. She did start taking a bit as we were saying goodbye. She has always been a sweet, kind and caring Grandma. It is hard to see her health failing. It is hard to have a family wedding /party in California and not have her be a part of every event. 7 yrs ago we went down for another wedding, and she came with us to California Adventure Park. She even went on the roller coaster with us. It's hard to believe.
I love you grandma.
The third day of our vacation was August 20th...that's right it was Reagan's 10th birthday!
Question: Where does every kid want to go on their 10th birthday?
Answer: DisneyLand!...the Happiest place on earth! ...duh!
So we did. Actually I would not brave Disneyland at this time of year, (Crowds, Heat, etc.), unless I got in free. And we did. How? Let's just say I have a personal lifelong friendship with Tinkerbell and leave it at that.
Reagan had a great day. It was full of presents, surprises, fun, and LOVE!!!
We Love you Deedee!
The last day of our Vacation was the reason we took the trip in the first place....the Wedding. It was so nice. The sealing in the temple was absolutley beautiful. Redge and Marci had a reception outside at an old mission. Very cool.
So we stopped at my cousin Brooke's house in Tustin for one last dip in her awesome pool before heading back north. We got back at 2:00 am Monday. We're still tired...happy, but exausted.
We're now focusing on things at home. Back to school and end of summer fun, it goes so fast...August.
4 of you like what you're seeing!:
you totally stole my picture! too bad you guys couldn't stay longer!
Glad you are still alive Jen and glad you had such a great summer!
Yes Brooke I stole your photo...it's really good and my camera was dead! - Thanks for it though...did I violate a copyright? ;)
Oh and Kara, you got a beautiful baby out of your August...trade ya!
True. True. She's definitely the upside to the drama of august...I guess I shouldn't complain too much:)
