So last night Reagan was a contestant in the 'Little Miss Rigby Pageant'. Now wait...before you go and judge us, let me say that it was not an 'official' pageant and we, in no way, plan to encourage a beauty pageant lifestyle with our 8yr old! It was just something Reagan chose to do because her good friend Rachel had done it last year and Rachel's Sister is on the High School dance team, (the team that put on the pageant as a fund raiser.) Rachel kept telling Reagan how much fun she had and convinced her to do it. It was a good experience for Reagan. The High School Girls really took these little ones under their wings and made them feel so 'cool'. The girl who Reagan got as her 'Big Sister' was darling and Reagan just loved her. All last week they taught them a couple of dance & physical fitness routines, and worked with them on poise and stage presence. There were 24 contestantants. The girls were judged on physical fitness, poise and presence, 'party dress' attire, (Reagan just wore her baptism dress...Yes I'm a cheap Mom but come on! Party Dress?!), and answering a random question. Reagan's question was, " Who is your favorite Disney Princess and how are you most like them?" Her answer was, "My favorite princess is Pocahontis because she likes to be in nature, and so do I!" She did really well and smiled the entire time she was on stage! We were very proud of her. My pictures didn't turn out so good becuse of where we sat but I bought the DVD of the event and will try to post something better later.

...Wait did they say "Reagan Housley"? Yes they did! Introducing 'Mini Miss Rigby 2008' Look at her in her 'Mini Tiara!' Oh!...there'll be NO living with her now!
Reagan was too overwhelmed to give an acceptance speech last night so I wrote one on her behalf..."I'd like to Thank my "Big Sister", Lainie for being sooo fun. I also would like to thank my Dad and Brother for almost sitting through the entire two hour event of dance and crap they both hate. I'd like to thank both of my Grandma's for coming out and supporting me like they always do, my Aunt Debi, Uncle Craig, and cousins Alexys & Katie who said they wouldn't have missed this for the world?, and a special thanks to my Aunt Tifany & Uncle Brandon, who, (because they don't have kids yet), could have gone to the Twilight movie instead. Last but definately not least I'd like to thank my inspirational Mom, who paved the way for me to achieve greatness in the pageant world. Thanks Mom, even though I've far surpassed you in poise, beauty, and smarts you will always be the Wind beneath my Wings!"

I am trying not to pee my pants laughing, loving the acceptance speech greatly. I feel a little neglected though, afterall it was I who drove YOU to Miss teen lethbridge tryouts after somebody, who shall remain nameless, put diesel in the charger 2.2...and really where would Reagan be if you hadn't made it to the MTL pageant anyway????
Why is her Big Sister's nose red? Is that on purpose?
Yes Reagan neglected to mention several people in her speech...when she accepts the little miss universe crown I'll have her correct this! Oh and her 'sister' was dressed as a clown because the whole theme was a circus 'topsy turvey' deal. I'll never live the MTL thing down. It's like the only thing I ever did!
Of course you bought the dvd!!! Congratulations!! I love that you had her wear her baptism dress too!
