pregnant

Settle down...it's not me...I think Princess Leah, (our resident cat), is prego.
She went into heat a couple of months ago. She was bound and determined to get outside and every Tom in the neighborhood showed up at our house meowing at the door. What a slut!
So she's looking really plump, sleeping/eating a lot, and her nipples are big and pink...
(sorry for the graphic info, but it's a sure sign).
I'm really grossed out by this whole thing.
I'm not sure I can stomach it.
My biggest concern is that I'm going to go the grocery store, come home, and she will have given birth...
...on my bed....eeeeeeewwwww!
Another worry, is what if I have to 'assist'?....oh the horror!
If anyone has any experience in Cat pregnancy, delivery, and midwifery, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I'm freaking out here people!

Way to get me all excited about you perhaps having another cute little one...

I had cats when I was growing up. And this will sound realy gross, so brace yourself. They clean up all the afterbirth by eating it...ha ha ha...I just heard you gag! lol. The good thing about this is that she will probably give birth and have it all cleaned up by the time you even notice. They tend to go to a place they feel safe and concealed from the world to protect their offspring, so probably not on your bed...but then again, you never know. :0)

I have to admit I fell for the title. I was so excited for you for almost a second. Good luck with the cat, I have no experience with any of it.

Sorry guys - I thought it was kinda funny, but now I'm dissappointed it's not me seeing how people would be so excited if it were me...maybe someday...

My cat just had kittens last August. It was sort of gross but we didn't do anything. When she seemed to be getting closer, I got a big shallow box and put a sheet in the bottom. I put it in a safe place (the downstairs bathroom....) where we could lock the kids out and let it sit there. I put her in it a few times and she would just jump out but I wanted her to know it was there. When she went into labor, which I knew was coming from the crazy meowing and the blood spot she left on the tile, I put her in the box. She gave birth and cleaned up all 5 kittens right in that box. She fed them there and they lived there for like 2 weeks or something. Like I said before, make sure it's somewhat shallow so mom can jump in and out. (no top on the box, by the way) Call me if you have other questions. :-)
