We didn't know it but, apparently 'Reagan' is a very hard word for new talkers to pronounce. Tanner's speech has improved a ton, but he still has a hard time with 'Reagan'. His 1st word for her was 'Dee Dee', which progressed to 'Yay Yay'. He now can call her 'Yaygan'...but we're trying to keep him calling her 'Yay Yay' or 'Dee Dee'. We like it...Todd calls her Yay Yay and I call her Dee Dee or DD.
Anyhoo...DD has been busy! She's had a crazy few weeks.
Thankfully things have settled down but here's what she's been up to:
Basketball
DD played her 2nd season of Basketball. It ended a couple of weeks ago. It was a major improvement over last year! We worked with her on getting aggressive.... yeah...we still need to work with her on that! She was really good about running plays, defending her man, setting picks, etc. but she shyed away from the ball a bit. Not completely though. She managed to take it to the hoop a few times. Her coach told me that if she had to come up with a 'starting' line-up Reagan would be on it, because she was the best at following directions.
Swimming
DD took swimming lessons for the 1st time in March. She can swim! She will swim for miles in the 3ft water where she can touch ... the 'deep' water, well she has a mental block about it. We're still working on that! ...it's the aggression thing again...
Piano
Miss DD rocked her Piano Festival this year. She got a 99. She played for the judge and wasn't one bit nervous. She has been fighting me a bit on Piano. Does anyone have hints on keeping their kids excited about Piano lessons? She does really good. Her teacher says she's a really good student...I just don't know how to keep her interested.
School
Miss DD has also been a bit of a book worm. She has been bringing home Katie Kazoo books 2 at a time,...finishing them both one night and bringing home 2 more the next night. She finally read the last one from the library last night and is upset that there are no more to read. We need another good book series...suggestions?

7 of you like what you're seeing!:
the exception to the rule is the kid that stays interested in piano. Most kids, including myself and all my siblings hated it multiple times during the lesson years. i remember saying some mean things to my mom because i was so mad at her for making me practice. so you just have to decide as a parent, is it something that is going to be optional? if it is than when she's had enough she'll quit - and most likely be mad at you when she's 30 for letting her quit. or you can decide that it's like homework, you've just got to do it, and she'll be mad at you now...
apart from that rewards and competition work great.
yup Brooke, that's what I thought...and that's what I'm doin'! Iknew you'd have some insight on that one for me - Thanks!
She's adorable! You brag away - I do it all the time! It's fun to hear about her little life!
She is absolutely beautiful... Brag away my friend I love to know about your baby cubs :)
You have done good Mama bear Tyson likes the Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne.
We will get her swimming in the deep end in May maybe even Tanner in the shallow end. Charlie is a little fish she will swim all day and both kids love the deep end. I get so nervos when Charlie jumps in at 7 feet but she loves it swims over to the edge and does it again.
I am starting to
read Bailey School
Kids books. I have
read one Magic Tree
house. I like them
too!:) Right now I am
reading Little House
In The Big Woods. It
is very good. My
dad said that he has
seen the movie.:)
My dad said he
doesn't like their
Sundays very much.
Let me quit piano already! I will NEVER like it! I've done it for three years, and I STILL hate piano.
